Exclamations: 太 … 了! and 真 … !

太 … 了 (tài … le) = “too…!” or “so…!”. Depending on context it's excess (太贵了！ too expensive!) or enthusiasm (太好了！ great!).

The final 了 is almost mandatory: it carries the exclamation.

真 + adjective is another exclamation, more of an admiring remark: 这水果真好吃！ (this fruit is really good!).

The negative 不太 + adj. = “not very” (handy for politeness): 不太好, 不太贵. Tone: bú tài.
