To say “do something with someone”, use 跟 or 和 as a preposition, usually followed by 一起 (yìqǐ, together) or its colloquial twin 一块儿 (yíkuàir), before the verb:
我跟朋友一起去 (I'm going with a friend). 我们常一块儿玩儿 (we often hang out together).
With no specific person: 我们一起去吧 (let's go together).
跟 also introduces the person you address: 他跟老师请假了 (he asked the teacher for leave). 我跟你说 (let me tell you…).
Negative: 没/不 goes before 跟/和: 我没和姐姐一起去.
Examples
明天他们一起去图书馆。
Míngtiān tāmen yìqǐ qù túshūguǎn.Tomorrow they're going to the library together.
我们常一块儿玩儿。
Wǒmen cháng yíkuàir wánr.We often hang out together.
我没和姐姐一起去中国。
Wǒ méi hé jiějie yìqǐ qù Zhōngguó.I didn't go to China with my older sister.
他跟老师请假了。
Tā gēn lǎoshī qǐngjià le.He asked the teacher for time off.
Common mistakes
✗ 我一起跟朋友去 → ✓ 我跟朋友一起去.
✗ 我去电影院跟朋友 (“with a friend” at the end) → ✓ 我跟朋友去电影院.
✗ 我和姐姐没一起去 → ✓ 我没和姐姐一起去.
