Subject + 可能 + Verb / 可能 + Sentence
可能 (kěnéng) expresses possibility or probability: "maybe", "might".
It goes before the verb (他可能不来) or at the start of the sentence (可能他不来). To strengthen it: 很可能 (very likely).
It's also a noun/adjective: 有可能 (it's possible), 不可能！(impossible!).
Examples
你可能感冒了。
Nǐ kěnéng gǎnmào le.You may have caught a cold.
明天可能下雨。
Míngtiān kěnéng xià yǔ.It might rain tomorrow.
他今天很可能不来上班。
Tā jīntiān hěn kěnéng bù lái shàngbān.He very likely won't come to work today.
这不可能！
Zhè bù kěnéng!That's impossible!
Common mistakes
✗ 他来可能 → ✓ 他可能来.
Don't confuse 可能 (possibility) with 可以 (permission): ✗ 明天可以下雨 → ✓ 明天可能下雨.
