N1、N2 以及 N3 | V1，并且 + V2
Chinese separates "and" between nouns from "and" between verbs/clauses.
• 以及 links noun phrases, typically at the end of a list and in writing: 老师、学生以及家长. It may introduce a lesser item.
• 并且 links verbs or clauses: "and moreover". More formal than 而且.
Reminder: 和 normally does not link two clauses. ✗ 我吃饭和他看书。
Examples
会议讨论了工资、休假以及培训等问题。
Huìyì tǎolùn le gōngzī, xiūjià yǐjí péixùn děng wèntí.The meeting discussed pay, leave and training, among other issues.
他通过了考试，并且拿到了奖学金。
Tā tōngguò le kǎoshì, bìngqiě ná dào le jiǎngxuéjīn.He passed the exam and also got a scholarship.
科学家发现并且证明了这个规律。
Kēxuéjiā fāxiàn bìngqiě zhèngmíng le zhège guīlǜ.Scientists discovered and proved this law.
Common mistakes
✗ 他很聪明以及很努力。→ ✓ 他很聪明，并且很努力。(以及 = nouns)
✗ 我去了超市和买了水果。→ ✓ 我去了超市，并且买了水果 / 还买了水果。
