无论 / 不管 + question word or alternative，(Subject) + 都 / 也 + …
无论 (wúlùn, more written) and 不管 (bùguǎn, more spoken) mean "no matter, whatever". The result stays the same whatever the conditions.
After 无论/不管 you need an open expression:
- a question word: 谁, 什么, 哪儿, 怎么, 多…
- an alternative: A 还是 B, 去不去, 大小…
The second half contains 都 (or 也).
Examples
不管你去哪儿，我都支持你。
Bùguǎn nǐ qù nǎr, wǒ dōu zhīchí nǐ.Wherever you go, I'll support you.
无论遇到什么困难，好朋友都会帮你。
Wúlùn yùdào shénme kùnnan, hǎo péngyou dōu huì bāng nǐ.Whatever difficulties you meet, a good friend will help you.
不管刮风还是下雨，他每天都来看我。
Bùguǎn guāfēng háishi xiàyǔ, tā měi tiān dōu lái kàn wǒ.Rain or shine, he comes to see me every day.
Common mistakes
✗ 不管天气很冷，我都去。 → you need an open expression. ✓ 不管天气多冷，我都去。 (For a real situation: 虽然天气很冷，但是我还是去。)
✗ 不管……或者…… → in an alternative, use 还是.
