Chinese dates go from biggest to smallest: 2026年9月23日，星期三.
• The year is read digit by digit: 2026年 = èr líng èr liù nián.
• Months are numbered: 一月 (January)… 十二月 (December).
• The day: 日 (rì) in writing, 号 (hào) in speech: 七月十号.
• Weekdays: 星期 + number: 星期一 (Monday)… 星期六 (Saturday). Sunday = 星期日 or 星期天 (never 星期七!).
For age, dates, clock time or weekdays, you don't need 是 in a positive sentence: 今天星期三 (“today Wednesday”). The negative, however, needs 不是: 今天不是星期三.

Common mistakes
✗ 十号七月 → ✓ 七月十号.
✗ 星期七 → ✓ 星期日 / 星期天.
✗ 七个月 = “seven months” (a duration) ≠ ✓ 七月 = “July”.
