仍然 ("still") shows that a situation hasn't changed despite time or an obstacle. It's a more written 还是/还.
It naturally follows 虽然/尽管 or a time phrase: 十年过去了，他仍然… Literary variant: 依然.
Examples
吃了三天药，他仍然咳嗽。
Chī le sān tiān yào, tā réngrán késou.After three days of medicine, he's still coughing.
虽然已经八十岁了，奶奶仍然每天散步。
Suīrán yǐjīng bāshí suì le, nǎinai réngrán měi tiān sànbù.Though she's eighty, Grandma still goes for a walk every day.
问题仍然没有解决。
Wèntí réngrán méiyǒu jiějué.The problem still hasn't been solved.
Common mistakes
✗ 仍然 before the subject: ✗ 仍然他咳嗽 → ✓ 他仍然咳嗽。
✗ 仍然 for "once again" (repetition) → ✓ 又/再。
